Fylde is a local government district with borough status in Lancashire, North West England. As of mid-2014, the population of the borough is 77,042. The Fylde borough was formed on the 1st April 1974 through a merger of the borough of Lytham St Annes, the Kirkham Urban District and the Fylde Rural District. It borders the Unitary Authority of Blackpool, as well as Preston, South Ribble, West Lancashire and Wyre districts.

Being the largest settlement in the area, Lytham also hosts the administrative headquarters for the area, as well as much of the local economy and public facilities.
