Fees for conveyancing in Reigate and Banstead
Our fees are transparent and, so long as the situation does not change (for example so long as your property doesn't turn out to be leasehold when we thought it was freehold) the fee we quote is the fee you will be charged.
We don't add extras on for things like photocopying, postage, or the like. Those are our overheads and we don't pass them on to you.
All our conveyancing fees are dependent on the nature and value of the transaction, so we naturally charge a bit more for more complicated and high value work. However, the fee charged will be the same for a customer in Newcastle as it would be for someone in London, or indeed in Reigate and Banstead.
There are some aspects of our conveyancing fees which we can't change. Fees charged by other bodies such as HM Land Registry, or by HMRC for Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) are out of our control.
Introduction to Reigate and Banstead
Reigate and Banstead is a governmental district in East Surrey, with borough status. It has a population of 143,094, and was formed in 1972 through the merger of the former boroughs of Reigate and Banstead urban district with parts of the Dorking and Horley Rural District.
There are many other settlements in the borough, for instance, Kingswood, Horley and Redhill being some other major areas.
The northern third of the borough lies within the North Downs area, making the area particularly scenic and popular amongst visitors. Specifically, many tourists visit Box Hill, which is the highest point in the North Downs, to visit its viewpoint, which has a 180 degree viewpoint over the River Mole however there is also a visitor centre and cafe there.
Further south, tourists may find the Greensand Ridge, which breaks up at the centre of Reigate and Banstead, and consequently forms the Redhill basin. On top of this, the Surrey Wildlife Trust manages five nature reserves, including a significant amount of heath land and forest.
In terms of the borough's economy, it is relatively diverse. Service sector industry is the most prominent, with many city workers, as the the majority of the borough is located on the London Commuter Belt. Despite this, due to the rural nature of the borough, there are a number of farms focused mainly of cereal and root vegetable agriculture.
In the more urban areas, there are also an array of significant companies acting as large scale employers. AXA Insurance, Kimberly Clark and Black and Veatch are just some examples, and Pfizer's UK headquarters is located by the the M25 motorway within Walton-on-the-Hill.
Due to the borough's proximity to London, there are reliable railway lines offering services to London, such as the North Downs Line and the heavier used London to Brighton line. Other commuters may use the M25 motorway, or the M23 motorway.
