Fees for conveyancing in Tonbridge and Malling
Our fees are transparent and, so long as the situation does not change (for example so long as your property doesn't turn out to be leasehold when we thought it was freehold) the fee we quote is the fee you will be charged.
We don't add extras on for things like photocopying, postage, or the like. Those are our overheads and we don't pass them on to you.
All our conveyancing fees are dependent on the nature and value of the transaction, so we naturally charge a bit more for more complicated and high value work. However, the fee charged will be the same for a customer in Newcastle as it would be for someone in London, or indeed in Tonbridge and Malling.
There are some aspects of our conveyancing fees which we can't change. Fees charged by other bodies such as HM Land Registry, or by HMRC for Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) are out of our control.
Introduction to Tonbridge and Malling
Tonbridge and Malling is a local government district and borough in Kent. As of mid-2014 it has a population of 124,426. Like many British governmental districts, Tonbridge and Malling was formed in 1974 through a merger of the urban district of Tonbridge with the Malling rural district and the villages of Hadlow and Hildenborough from the Tonbridge Rural District.
The area is mainly agricultural, revolving around orchards and livestock, however in recent years multiple business parks have been developed, and thanks to the sufficient railway system, much of the agricultural population is able to commute to the more built up areas of the borough.
Many visit the borough to carry out outdoor pursuits, but there are also museums and other cultural attractions, such as the Whitbread Hop Farm, which was once a thriving hop growing firm. They put on weekend exhibitions and shows, and many come from far and wide to visit. There are also 27 Grade I Listed buildings in the borough, and again, many of these attract visitors.
In terms of transport, there are six railway routes operating in the borough: The South Eastern Main Line, which provides services to London, The Maidstone East Line, which provides services to areas such as London Victoria, Maidstone and Canterbury, The Hastings Line, HS1, as well as a few other smaller lines.
